Forum/Code of conduct
Standing rules

Code of conduct.

The Forum’s standing rules of the room. Membership is conditional on the unconditional acceptance of these rules. Members in breach may be removed without refund and without further appeal.

Article 1

The Chatham House Rule.

All Forum sessions are convened under the Chatham House Rule. Members are free to use information received in a Forum session, but no attribution — by name, by organisation, or by any reconstructible combination — may be made of the speaker.

No recording. No press. No verbatim notes.

Audio recording, video recording, photography and transcription by any party — including the Secretariat — are prohibited inside Forum sessions. Press are not admitted, with no exception, including for ceremonial sessions.

No commercial use.

Membership confers no licence to use the Forum’s name, marks, lists, briefs or any aggregated chapter material for commercial purposes. The Secretariat does not produce sales collateral and the Forum does not endorse member firms.

Personal seat.

Membership is held personally by the named individual. Seats are not transferable to colleagues, successors, or junior delegates, save by the express written permission of the Secretariat. A second representative from a member organisation may attend only by exception and only with the chapter convenor’s consent.

Conflict.

Members disclose any direct conflict of interest at the start of any session in which the topic engages their commercial position. The Secretariat maintains a confidential conflict register, available for inspection by Council on request.

Breach.

Suspected breach of the standing rules is reviewed by the Council. Sanctions range from a written warning to permanent removal from the Forum without refund. Decisions of the Council on this matter are final.
